Learning Technologist & Unit Leader in Technology and Digitally Enhanced Learning

Biography

Stephen Pyne has over ten years’ experience in Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) and is a Learning Technologist and Unit Leader at the Health Sciences University. Stephen joined the Health Sciences University in April 2023 having previously worked at Bournemouth University across three faculties supporting a range of STEM disciplines. Stephen has attained a comprehensive knowledge base in the adoption and innovation of educational technologies in support of teaching and learning practices. Stephen has worked on large institutional technology implementation projects and has developed effective strategies for a range of technology innovations in education. Stephen has extensive experience in harnessing simulation technologies in the support of student engagement and has developed virtual reality healthcare simulations for nursing students in paediatrics and midwifery.

Current Activity

Stephen is part of the AI staff working group and is currently exploring innovative ways of adopting and embedding AI tools into teaching and learning at the Health Sciences University.
