Biography
Professor Philip Weinstein is an established international leader in researching the relationships between healthy ecosystems and human health, including water-borne and mosquito-borne disease, and most recently the potential health benefits of green space exposure. He is uniquely qualified for this multidisciplinary work with dual qualifications in ecology (PhD) and public health medicine (MBBS, FAFPHM). He has over 350 publications, 15,000 citations, over $10M in research income, and an h-index of 61.
Phil has a good track record in multidisciplinary research collaboration, including allied health, and experience in research translation with both industry and government. He was a member of the Board of Review Editors for the global Millennium Ecosystem Assessment, served as Co-Chair of the International Medical Geology Association, is past President of the Australian Entomological Association, and sits on the Board of the Ecological Health Network (USA).
Phil remains an active and successful mentor to PhD students, ECRs, registrars, and colleagues.
