Philip Dewhurst is an Associate Professor in the AECC School of Chiropractic.

Biography

Philip Dewhurst is an Associate Professor in the AECC School of Chiropractic and the School’s International Partnerships and Developments Lead. He graduated from Health Sciences University (then AECC University College) as a chiropractor in 2005 and returned as a member of teaching staff in 2008, being actively engaged in continuing education, research, teaching and clinical practice.

Philip has taught across numerous disciplines and subjects from human sciences to clinical skills and education practices to leadership. His research interests include chiropractic education, education standards, multidisciplinary and interprofessional working and workforce development. In 2024 Philip was asked to lead the UK Workforce Development Strategy on behalf of the General Chiropractic Council and Royal College of Chiropractors, a project which aims to understand the future needs of the chiropractic workforce.

Philip was appointed the Royal College of Chiropractor’s Director of Academic Affairs in 2025 and has served as a registrant member of the General Chiropractic Council’s Education Committee since 2017.

Current Activity

Philip is an Associate Professor in the AECC School of Chiropractic and the International Partnerships and Developments Lead for the School.
