Biography
Chris has been teaching at the HSU since 2001, becoming a full-time tutor in 2003 Chris has taught osteopathic technique at every level of the course both full-time and part-time and is passionate about teaching structural osteopathy. He is the Unit Leader for the Full Time & Part Time Patient Care Unit years and the lead tutor for osteopathic technique in FT year 4 & PT Year 5. Chris was in the general clinic for many years, but after caring for his brother, now solely concentrates on people living with HIV.
He has worked alongside colleagues at Royal Free Hospital and the Blanchard Clinic, which he finds both fascinating and rewarding. Chris had also been working on the Access to HE Diploma (Osteopathic Sciences and Health Care) for over 12 years and was leading the Ethics and Practice of Osteopathy Unit until 2021. During his time at the HSU Chris gained a PgCAP teaching qualification and continued his studies to gain a MA in Medical Education and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. When not at the University, Chris is in private practice in Upminster, is the Beadle to the Worshipful Company of Cordwainers and is a Freeman of the City of London.
Current Activity
As well as being the Unit Leader, Chris is a lecturer in Patient Care specialising in osteopathic technique. He is also the clinic tutor for the Blanchard Clinic which treats people living with HIV and supervises several student dissertations.
