George Rix

George Rix, a highly respected and much-loved lecturer within the AECC School of Chiropractic, sadly passed away in March 2025 following a year-long battle with prostate cancer.

Biography

Dr. George Rix qualified as a Chiropractor in 1994 from the Health Sciences University. He graduated with prizes for ‘best academic performance’ (Valedictorian), ‘best clinical performance’ and ‘best project’. In 2009, George earned his PhD from the University of Southampton in the area of functional assessment of the cervical spine, focusing in particular on an aspect of sensorimotor dysfunction (head/neck movement and positional awareness).

Over his time at the Health Sciences University, he developed considerable experience in teaching clinical sciences, with his teaching focused primarily on clinical neurosciences and clinical supervision within the AECC Chiropractic Clinic. His academic and research interests included clinical neuroscience related to cervical spine disorders, as well as the evaluation and reporting of clinical test characteristics.
