Biography

Kevin Brownhill is a researcher, as well as an osteopath in practice.

Current Activity

Kevin has a variety of interests including statistical analysis, data management, physical measurement and motion analysis. He is and has been involved in several collaborations with external and internal UCO School of Osteopathy colleagues. Examples of external collaborations are with:

  • Frederic Lange from UCL (Dept of Med Phys & Biomedical Eng) and former UCO student Audrey Buot, looking at palpable tender points using time-domain near-infrared spectroscopy
  • David Evans at Birmingham University, looking at use of mobile phones to assess movement quality in patients
  • A recently completed international trial looking at osteopathic treatment of infants with colic (CUTIES trial)
  • Colleagues at AECC (Anglo-European College of Chiropractic) analysing spinal motion from videofluoroscopic images
  • Enrica Papi formerly at Imperial College analysing 3D motion quality in back pain
  • Osteopaths for Progress in Headaches and Migraines working on the development of a post-graduate training program for osteopaths in headache management (EdACHe Project)

He is also involved in several on-going research projects hosted at the UCO School of Osteopathy at HSU. These include:

  • The UrGEnT project (Underrepresented Groups’ Experiences in Osteopathic Training)
  • The OSCAR project (Osteopathic Single Case Research for Patients with Chronic Low Back Pain)
