Biography

Karen is a leadership coach, writer and academic specialising in responsible and compassionate leadership. Her focus is on developing outstanding leaders who want to make a positive difference in the world.

During the 1990s, she coached leaders and delivered leadership development programmes for large corporations and banks all over the world. She then gained her PhD which led to her first book, ‘Leadership Blindspots and What to Do About Them’.

She subsequently joined the University of Winchester Business School which specialised in responsible leadership and sustainable business. There she conducted research, published papers and set up and ran the Centre for Responsible Management. She established and led the Doctorate of Business Administration and led the Undergraduate Business Management Degree, winning awards for her teaching. Her latest research was into compassionate leadership. This led to her second book, ‘Leading with Love’.

In 2018, she left the Winchester Business School and went around the world exploring different spiritual practices and paths, subsequently gaining a Diploma in psychosynthesis leadership coaching. Her current focus is on developing the mental wellbeing, resilience, psychological fitness and spiritual maturity needed for leadership. She continues to coach senior leaders and deliver leadership development with a variety of business schools.
