Our First AECC University College Staff vs. Students Sports Day!
On Wednesday 24th April, we held our first AECC University College ‘Staff vs. Students Sports Day’! It took place on Boscombe Beach, and what a great afternoon it was! Staff and students took part in sporting games, including tug of war, sprinting, the three-legged race, and dodgeball.
A big thank you to our Students’ Union for organising and to all the staff who got involved and came along to cheer everyone on. We all had so much fun and feel enormously proud to have the fantastic communal spirit that we have here at the institution. Being able to interact as we do, and at events such as this, really shows the support we have for one another and how engaged people are with AECC UC.
There are few universities with this type of community, and it is great to be part of ours.
Speaking about the event, our Students’ Union and Engagement Manager, Rhianydd Lewis, said:
“Our first ‘Staff vs. Students Sports Day’ was an initiative that came off the back of the Student Engagement Strategy and was organised by ASU. It was a brilliant success and highlighted what an amazing community we have at AECC University College.
“We saw everyone’s competitive spirits come out in force, but the students just pipped the staff to the post to win the day overall! We are looking forward to holding this event again in the new academic year.”
