We are delighted to announce that the University College of Osteopathy has joined Health Sciences University (formerly AECC University College).
We are thrilled to announce that as of 1 August 2024, the University College of Osteopathy (UCO) will officially be one of a number of schools to proudly sit within Health Sciences University (HSU).
This partnership brings together two highly regarded institutions in health science education, creating a unique environment for interdisciplinary learning, clinical practice, and research. HSU will now offer an expanded range of courses across allied health disciplines, providing exciting new opportunities for students, staff, and the healthcare community.
A Stronger Future for Health Sciences Education
Professor Lesley Haig, Vice-Chancellor of Health Sciences University, commented: “Bringing the University College of Osteopathy into our family represents a significant milestone for both specialist institutions. As we strengthen our combined offer as a leading health sciences university, we’re looking forward to playing our part in training and developing NHS and healthcare professions at every level, and being a responsive and effective system partner both in Dorset and London.”
Growing Student Community
Current and future students of the newly formed HSU can look forward to the same exceptional education that has been a hallmark of both AECC UC and UCO. Students will benefit from a growing and diverse student community, enhanced collaboration opportunities, and a continued focus on a supportive learning environment.

Expanding Health Sciences Offerings
The new combined institution will continue to offer a broad range of health sciences courses across our campuses in Bournemouth and London. UCO will continue to offer its Osteopathy courses in London under the title ‘UCO School of Osteopathy’ and will be joined by a newly formed Health Business School. In Bournemouth, the AECC School of Chiropractic and School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences will continue to deliver their wide range of courses in allied health and related disciplines.
