Health Sciences University celebrated final year students from our Bournemouth and London campuses as we held our graduation ceremonies in both locations at the end of November.

A total of 376 graduates from 37 countries were honoured this year during the Bournemouth ceremony. 193 students graduated from the AECC School of Chiropractic.

This year’s Bournemouth event saw graduates from the AECC School of Chiropractic, the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and the Centre for Workforce and Systems Innovation receive their degrees, recognising their dedication and hard work.

The Bournemouth ceremony took place at the Pavilion Theatre, and the ceremony was opened with a performance by the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.

One of the highlights of the ceremony was the honorary fellowship being presented to Dr. Rob Finch, Chief Executive Officer of The Royal College of Chiropractors who has made significant contributions to healthcare and higher education.

The Deputy Mayor of Bournemouth, Councillor George Farquhar, was also in attendance and presented 16 Special Awards. These awards recognised outstanding achievements in areas such as academics, dissertations, leadership, and clinical practice. Among the awards presented were the Best Research Dissertation Award (Postgraduate) and the Student Clinician of the Year Award.

Professor Stewart Cotterill, Head of the School for Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and Acting Head of the School of Chiropractic, said: “Graduation is a special day when we come together to celebrate our students’ achievements and congratulate them on the hard work that has taken them to this point.

“The knowledge and skills our students have gained from their time at AECC University College, recently relaunched and renamed Health Sciences University, will provide them with a strong platform for their future careers.”

He added, “Our graduates now enter professions where they can make a real difference in people’s lives which can be enriching and inspiring. They have much to be proud of and we are immensely proud of each of them.

“We are delighted to welcome them into our thriving alumni community, a truly global network of talented individuals who are enjoying successful careers and flourishing lives. Health Sciences University will always be here for them, and they will be welcomed back at any time.”
