Course Details


This course provides a basic understanding of perimenopause and menopause and enables manual therapists to understand how MSK health and evidence-based management strategies can support their patients/clients. Become aware of common and uncommon symptoms associated with perimenopause and menopause.

This course is for all manual therapists.

Course suitability:

This course is suitable for practising osteopaths, physiotherapists and chiropractors.

  • provide a basic understanding of perimenopause and menopause

  • Enable therapists to understand how  MSK health and evidence-based management strategies can support their patients/clients

  • Be aware of common and uncommon symptoms associated with perimenopause and menopause

Phyllis Woodfine

Phyllis is an Osteopath, ICF PCC coach and Coach Supervisor (EMCC) and has over 30 years’

experience as a facilitator, support worker, lecturer, coach, Allied Health Professional (AHP)

in health care and public health arenas. She has accumulated over three decades of diverse

experience that has shaped her abilities and perspective on how to support others to create

positive behavioural change. From working in Public Health for over 30 years whilst also

working as an Osteopath in the community, supporting positive health and lifestyle changes

coaching individuals over the last 6 years. Phyllis also worked within the NHS to support

individuals in balancing health inequalities. She is a mentor and co-trainer with a coach

training academy. She has been an Osteopath for over 20 years and has taught at

undergraduate and postgraduate level.

With a bachelor’s of Science degree in Osteopathy, a Masters in Sports Injury Management,

an ICF PCC accreditation as a coach, she has also held leadership roles in clinics, as a clinic

tutor, senior lecturer, an Osteopath in a GP’s practice, and local government officer

supporting social workers and healthcare professionals. Phyllis is passionate about sharing

her knowledge and expertise with professionals, through a range of workshops, conferences,

and talks. She regularly receives supervision to enhance her skills and has supervised both

individuals and groups over the last 18 months.
