AECC University College Becomes a Signatory to the Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment
We are proud to announce that AECC University College has become a signatory to the Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA). The international CoARA Steering Group approved our institutional request and AECC UC is now the 13th UK university to commit to CoARA, joining the 722 organisations that have signed up globally to date.
The CoARA provides a platform for organisations across the world to work collectively to ensure that the assessment of research, researchers, and research organisations recognises the diverse outputs, practices, and activities that maximise the quality and impact of research. The Agreement is based on ten commitments that seek to establish a common direction for research assessment reform.
The CoARA commitments reflect our AECC UC values and strategic plan, and signing the Agreement is a real step forward that reflects our research ambition and culture here at AECC UC. Speaking on this development, our Head of Research, Dr Julie Northam, said:
“AECC University College is delighted to have signed the CoARA Agreement. Being part of this global movement will support us in achieving our commitment to creating a healthy research culture that enables our researchers to fulfil their potential and maximises the quality and impact of our research.”
